When the barbaric Taliban militia entered in Bamyan, they were looking for Hazaras to kill them. Accurding to roughly estimates, hundereds of men, women and children were killed during their occupation. People were died of cold weather and hunger while escaping from Baba mountain. There are a number of graves in Bamyan who were killed by the Taliaban during 1998. These graves belong to group of people who wanted to negotiate with the Taliban to stop killing of children, women and old men but these people were brutally killed and ladies burried these dead bodies afterwords

One of the criticisms levelled at international donors is that much of the money is tied to security rather than humanitarian work. That means relatively peaceful areas can lose out. Now some provincial governors are saying that poor Afghans in their regions are turning to the Taliban for financial help. Al Jazeera's Hashem Ahelbarra reports from Bamiyan where many say they are yet to see any aid at all

There is a football team of UN personnel in Bamyan. Although they are not well trained but the team has passion to compete. This is a nice experience to play football in Bamyan with other teams.
